Frequently Asked Questions

Sustainability & Certifications
"Biodegradable" is a vague term—almost anything breaks down eventually! Our products are Home Compostable, meaning they are certified to break down in your garden compost heap at low temperatures. They return to the earth as nutrient-rich biomass and water, leaving behind zero microplastics or harmful residues.
We are proud to hold the DIN Certco certification (NFT51-800). This is the gold standard for home composting; it guarantees the product will disintegrate in ambient temperatures, mimicking a typical backyard setup rather than requiring an industrial facility.
In a well-maintained home compost bin, most of our items (like the cone bags and bin liners) will break down within 26–52 weeks. It may take slightly longer during the colder British winter months!
Absolutely not. Our range is 100% plant-based, typically derived from corn starch, sugar cane, or cellulose.

Disposal & Recycling
No. Please do not put compostable bags in your dry recycling bin (the one for plastic bottles and tins). They are made from bio-polymers and will contaminate the traditional plastic recycling stream.

Home Compost Bin: The best and most sustainable option.
-
Food Waste Caddy: If your local council accepts certified compostable packaging.
-
General Waste: If the first two aren't available—they are still a far better choice than traditional oil-based plastics.

Product Specifics
Yes, they are fully certified food-grade. They are perfect for sweets, popcorn, marshmallows, and even loose-leaf tea.
Yes! You can use a standard heat-sealer on a low setting to keep your treats fresh and secure.
Because they are plant-based, they have a softer feel than traditional crinkly plastic. However, they are just as strong and offer excellent clarity to show off your products.
Our liners are designed to be breathable yet water-resistant. This helps food waste dry out slightly, reducing unpleasant smells. We recommend changing them every 3–4 days if you are disposing of very "wet" waste.
Yes, our sandwich bags are freezer-safe, making them a brilliant plastic-free alternative for keeping snacks fresh.
Our sponges are made from natural cellulose (wood pulp) and sisal fibres. They are entirely plastic-free and won’t shed microplastics down your drain. You can sanitise them in the dishwasher or in boiling water.

Storage & Shelf Life
To ensure your products perform at their best, we recommend using them within:
-
Sweet Cone Bags: 12 months
-
Bin Liners: 9–12 months
-
Sandwich Bags: 12 months
-
Sponges: Indefinite (if kept dry before use)
-
To keep them in top condition, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. High heat and moisture are what start the composting process, so keep them tucked away in a cupboard until you need them.
Always. We ship everything in recycled cardboard boxes or compostable mailers using paper tape. Your delivery will be 100% "bin-friendly."
